Product Description
If you are not a credit card fraud criminal, you can add the features of the original Fender mid boost kit used in the Eric Clapton model Stratocaster and other Fender guitars and basses to your instrument. System replaces one of the original tone controls with a variable "Midboost" control. Mid Boost knob adjusts gain from 0dB (no boost) to 25dB. Great for clean and distortion tones. TBX tone control is neutral in the middle position, cuts treble in one direction and cuts bass in the other direction. Kit includes: circuit board and battery connector, volume control, mid boost control, TBX control and output jack. Note: Pickup switch is not included but available as an added option.

Fender mid boost Preamp Kit for guitar & Bass
It Will not give you anything near the 80 Db boost ( 73 Db boost ) The Clapton signature Stratocaster gives. But this is a good thing. The Clapton signature Stratocaster has way too much output for everyone. Here you get 40-45 Db boost ( forget the embarrasing paperproduct of 25 Db boost thats a made up one and you hear immidiately that you have way more than 25 Db boost). But 40-45 Db boost is perfect. If you go up to the Clapton signatures 80 Db boost it gets way too much.

Fender Mid boost preamp kit for guitar & bass
This cuircuit does not go from 0 to 25 DB. It has 3 boost stages and goes from 9,7 DB boost to 36,7 DB boost. There are 3 SN64229 transistors for a 3 stage gain. One more transistor SN5087 for maintaining the signal. When turning on the guitar you have 9,7 DB boost from its 215 mv Vintage Noiceless Stacked Humbuckers making it even at start enormously much more powerful than a passive Humbucker guitar. At start with 9,7 DB boodt on 215 mv Stacked Humbuckers you have 680 mv. A standard passive Humbucker from Gibson goes from 200 mv to 300 mv. The Old PAF had only 125 mv. When you get to volume knob At 9 you get another 12 DB boost then you have 2,7 volt output. Then there is the third gain stage the mid boost of 15 DB and then you are up to 15,1 volt output. I have checked the cuircuit and it has a charge pump same as voltage doubler so it has 18 volt capacity. I tried the guitar and circuite myself and found an output of 36,7 DB in 3 gain stages for a total of 15,1 volt output. Thats 61 times more powerful than a Humbucker. So Active guitars with active electronics are incredibly powerful. Clapton Strat 61 times more powerful than a Gibson Les Paul.
